The Nile
So much to sift through in the desert sand
retracing our steps in a holy land
we're going solo with our bundles on our backs
the scent of each other drifting off a faded map
there's no getting lost though we leave no tracks
and back at the fire we'll tell each other stories one day
The Nile will flow in reverse
this is a play for which we can't rehearse
but i'm developing my scene and my character first
before I have a dialogue with you again along the Nile
Prana, ju ju, sekhem, or chi
whatever you call it, something's flowing through me
joining with you it grows exponentially
initiated once again in our sleep
initiated in dreams
we've been so long in the dark
we're not even fumbling
this friction's making a spark
we're no longer mumbling
there's so much on the tip of my tongue
i'm finding it humbling
to meet with you once again in the middle of the Nile
we've got the makings of a planetary birth
hold your seed to the light, let it beam
golden temple torches casting shadows on the wall
I remember this heat and how we stood so tall
we were royalty seeking mastery in the mystery
and the nectar was so sweet
there's nowhere to go, nothing to do or be
the well from which we draw holds the key
we're kindling so slowly this potency
the root reaches deep before the seed
can make a leap across
the Nile will flow in reverse
but the plot is getting juicy, oh
i'm gonna immerse my whole body and soul
with you, roll into the waters of the Nile....
re-living a promise of a holy land
no getting lost though we leave no tracks
